Director of Worship Arts (DWA) – First United Methodist Church, Rocky Mount, North Carolina is seeking a full-time Director of Worship Arts. DWA will oversee the church music ministry in both Traditional and Contemporary settings as well as other elements of worship arts (drama, dance, aesthetics, etc.). Duties will include directing various choral and instrumental groups of all ages (development of children’s program), directing the Contemporary Praise Team, coordinating all aspects of worship that involved any involvement of the arts program as well as developing and maintaining these programs. Candidates should possess excellent musical skills and be able to work as a team player on the church staff. Candidates interested in this position must see it as a ministry and be committed to both Traditional and Contemporary Worship in a Protestant Setting. Master’s degree in Music or equivalent in Church (Sacred) Music and three-five years experience preferred. Compensation commiserate with experience and education.
